This is a Cast Acrylic Collage Print - Acrylic paint applied to glass or polyethylene plastic material, can be peeled off to create a one-time print. Other materials may be used with acrylic paint to create mixed media or collage prints. The work is created on a polyethylene or glass surface, and collage pieces are applied with acrylic gel. After the gel is dry, an additional layer of acrylic gel is applied to the entire surface, and a backing material of cloth or paper is laid over the wet gel. Once the print has dried thoroughly (and patience is crucial because the drying process takes time), the piece is peeled from the surface. One can also paint on top of the print once it is pulled. Creating collages this way, produces a print with a smooth surface that fully integrates the collage elements with the paint elements. This technique was created by Joseph Zirker (see josephzirker.com).
